Starting on Friday, August 14th, students will be able to apply to the first-year positions of the 2026-2027 MSU Congress Team with the relevant and necessary documents. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 19th 2026, at 11:59 PM. Following this date, candidates will be contacted and given more information about the next steps.​​​

Fall 2026 Electoral Handbook

Your No. 1 reference throughout the elections, this handbook contains everything you need to know, from detailed descriptions of each position available to electoral guidelines and rules to demerit points to a timeline of the elections. Read it thoroughly and refer back to it when in doubt!

Fall 2026 Application Form

Complete this application form to apply for the first-year elected and appointed positions on the 2026-2027 MSU Congress. Please ensure all required supporting documentation is submitted along with your application for consideration.

Fall 2026 Nomination Form

Candidates for elected positions must submit a nomination form with 20 signatures from students. These signatures demonstrate public interest in your candidacy and indicate support for your decision to run, but they are not votes. Individuals may sign multiple nomination forms for different candidates.

Sample Letters of Intent and CV

Previous candidates' CVs and letters of intent are available for review to understand successful application approaches. The letter of intent should clearly articulate motivations for seeking the position, relevant background experience, and personal qualities that make an ideal candidate. The CV should emphasize all experiences that directly relate to the role being pursued, demonstrating qualifications and preparedness for the position.
